Pikop does not sell personal data to third parties for their own independent marketing purposes.
Pikop retains personal data for as long as an account remains active, and thereafter for a period necessary to satisfy legal, accounting, dispute-resolution, and regulatory requirements.
Subject to the Nigeria Data Protection Act, 2023, Users may have the right to: access the personal data Pikop holds about them; request correction of inaccurate data; request deletion of data no longer necessary for the purposes it was collected; object to certain processing; and lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission. Requests can be made through our support channels.
Pikop applies technical and organisational measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the data involved, including restricting access to identity verification data, using secure connections for data in transit, and storing sensitive credentials (such as payment provider API keys) outside of client-side application code.
The Platform is not directed at, and Pikop does not knowingly collect personal data from, individuals under 18 years of age.
Some of Pikop's service providers (payment, identity verification, mapping, and messaging partners) may process data outside Nigeria. Where this occurs, Pikop takes steps intended to ensure an adequate level of protection consistent with NDPA requirements.
3A.1 What we send. From time to time Pikop may send you offers, promotions, news, and product updates by email, SMS, and in-app notification. We do this on the basis of our legitimate interest in promoting our own services to our Users, and we limit it to what you would reasonably expect from a delivery and marketplace platform.
3A.2 Your choice, at any time. Promotional messages are switched on by default. You can opt out whenever you like, free of charge, in any of these ways:
We act on opt-out requests promptly. We keep a record of your marketing preference and when it last changed, so that we can honour it.
3A.3 What opting out does not change. Opting out stops promotional messages only. You will still receive messages that are necessary to provide the service or protect your account, such as OTP codes, order and delivery updates, payment and wallet receipts, security alerts, and notices about changes to our Terms or this Policy.
3A.4 Who uses your details. We use your name, email address, and phone number for these promotions ourselves, and through service providers who send messages on our behalf and are bound to use your details only for that purpose. We do not sell or give your contact details to third parties for their own marketing. This is your right to object to direct marketing under Section 6.
Pikop may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified through the app or by email/SMS before taking effect.
